Bio

I’m a Senior Software Development Engineer at AMD, working on the AMDGPU LLVM Backend team. I develop compiler support for AMD GPUs, including instruction selection, code generation, and performance and correctness work across LLVM and MLIR.

Previously, I was a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Automation at IISc Bangalore, advised by Prof. Arkaprava Basu and part of CSL. My research focused on computer systems, including architecture, operating systems, and GPU memory systems.

Before AMD, I worked at Cerebras on compiler and systems software for AI training and inference, using MLIR, LLVM, torch-mlir, and Python across the stack from high-level frameworks to hardware-facing IR.

My IISc thesis focused on accelerating data preprocessing for deep-learning training. I built a library on DALI that identifies system bottlenecks and builds faster preprocessing pipelines, achieving up to 10.5x improvement over vanilla DALI and up to 67% end-to-end training speedup with an H100 GPU.
